We are thrilled to announce a brand new event supporting Share Our Selves and the work we do providing care and assistance to those in need in Orange County — Share Our Selves’ Soirée on the Shore! This evening of food, drinks, live music, and fundraising for a great cause is sure to be a party you won’t forget!
Taking place under the twinkling market lights of Paséa Hotel & Spa’s outdoor, oceanfront lawn, the Soirée on the Shore will feature food stations from some of Orange County’s most loved restaurants in a casual, cocktail party atmosphere that encourages guests to mingle with the chefs and each other as they try the delicious bites, sip on wine and signature cocktails, and enjoy music from the live band. A silent auction, live auction, and wine pull will give those in attendance many ways to show their support for SOS’s many services. After the short program, guests can dance the night away under the stars to the music of the All Star Trio.
We hope you will join us at this exciting new event, as we look to SOS’s next 50 years of serving our neighbors in need!

Costa Mesa, CA — We anticipated the pandemic significantly impacting our seasonal programs. Our planning required us to consider many options in delivering our 2020 Adopt A Family Program. However, an option that we knew we didn’t have was cancelling the program altogether.Read More
Costa Mesa, CA — Our annual Family Service Night went virtual this year, as over 300 parents and kids participated in our first At Home! event. Families, small groups of classmates, and Scout troops spent the evening together at home assembling over 2,000 hygiene kits, diaper kits, shaving kits and snack bags for our neighbors in need.
They later joined a Zoom discussion on homelessness in our community with SOS CEO Christy Ward, and a lively Q&A with staff where families learned more about Share Our Selves and the services we provide to the community, and additional ways to get involved. We were so impressed with the thoughtful questions the children asked, and their creative ideas to help assist our homeless population.
Although we are looking forward to the time when we can welcome families back onsite to volunteer with us, our virtual event gave participants the flexibility to complete the projects at their convenience, and we received a unanimous request to hold another event later this year. Thank you to everyone who participated and donated items.
Stay tuned for details and date for our Summer Service Night!
In lieu of this year’s in-person Celebrity Chef Dinner we spent the month of October celebrating our 50th Anniversary online! Supporters participated in an online auction and “raise the paddle” fundraiser to raise critical funds for individuals and families impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Every year, SOS partners with The OC Fair & Events Center’s We Care Wednesday program to collect school supply donations to fill backpacks for our Back To School Program. With this summer’s fair canceled, this unfortunately also means the loss of these supplies. But, just as we have for the last 25 years, we are committed to providing fully stocked backpacks to local children in need.
While schools may remain closed in the fall, OC students will still need the right tools to learn. We will be purchasing backpacks already pre-filled with the necessary supplies. Help equip kids in need by supporting the SOS Back to School Program!
