Volunteer Opportunities

Thank you for expressing an interest in volunteering at Share Our Selves. We pride ourselves on our wonderful corps of volunteers, for without their numerous hours of service we would cease to function as well as we do. Because of our volunteers, 90 cents of every dollar donated goes directly to our support programs.

As part of its commitment to volunteer service, Share Our Selves participates in the President's Volunteer Service Award, a prestigious national honor.

You can help SOS make a difference. Volunteers providing their time and talent allow SOS to provide a high level of service while keeping costs low. We welcome you to join us.

Volunteers are needed for

Medical and dental clinics.
On site Social Services.
Off site Social Services.

Medical and Dental Clinic Volunteer Activities

We currently need people for the following positions:

Office work, such as dental front office, data entry, and billing.
Pharmacists.
RNs.
Optometrists.
Lab Technicians.

On Site Social Services Volunteer Activities

Volunteers are needed for the following activities between the hours of 8 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. (Sorting activities may also be done at other times.)

Front desk check in.
Food bagging.
Food sorting.
Clothing sorting.
Reading, arts and crafts with children.
Data entry.
Translating (primarily Spanish).

Off Site Social Services Volunteer Activities

Pick up food from merchants.
Coordinate a food, clothing, toy, or children's book drive.
Prepare sack lunches for our homeless clients.
Prepare baby baskets.
Construct hygiene kits.
Collect and fill backpacks for school children (seasonal).
