Seasonal Programs

Share Our Selves offers seasonal programs throughout the year to assist low–income and homeless Orange County individuals and families. Our seasonal programs are primarily organized and run by volunteers and supported by community members, businesses, schools, religious organizations, and community service groups.

School Readiness

High School Senior Project

Every spring, SOS provides assistance to college-bound students from low-income families who are graduating from high school. Each student receives such items as graduation clothes, funds to cover cap and gown expenses, a family celebration dinner, and college preparation essentials. Many of the students are the first person in their family to graduate from high school and attend college.

Back to School Program

Every August, since 1995, SOS distributes backpacks filled with school supplies to local students. A team of over 200 volunteers work together to fill each bag and organize them for distribution.

Holiday Support

Thanksgiving Food Distribution

During the week of Thanksgiving, the SOS Food Pantry fills bags with Thanksgiving food items to distribute to our clients. Bags are stuffed with turkeys, chickens, and additional holiday fare.

Adopt A Family

Since 1970, SOS has been linking generous community members with families in need of extra support during the holidays. Families are referred to SOS by Santa Ana and Costa Mesa schools and organizations. Read about how we brightened the holidays for Orange County families in 2016 by clicking here.
