Specialized Care for Pregnant Women
SOS provides specialized care for our pregnant patients during this precious and important time. Patients have an outpatient doctor who will follow them through their pregnancy to answer questions, provide examinations, and order tests. Through these visits, patients and their providers come to know each other very well. What makes SOS unique is that we have partnered with OB Hospitalist Group, which is a group of dedicated physicians who will take care of all our patients’ in-hospital needs. They are there 24 hours a day and will always be ready in case of deliveries.
When patients go into labor, the OB Hospitalist Group doctor who is “on-call” will care for them. The doctor who delivers the baby will have full access to all the records of pregnancy care and will be in constant contact with the SOS team.
We encourage our patients to ask questions, share their concerns (and their joys), and take comfort in knowing that they will receive compassionate, high-quality pregnancy care from our doctors and staff. We look forward to taking care of you and your baby.
Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program
The Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program (CPSP) provides a wide range of culturally competent services to pregnant women, from conception through 60 days postpartum. In addition to standard obstetric services, women receive enhanced services in the areas of nutrition, behavioral health, and health education.
Goals of CPSP:
- support the mother with information and resources to have a healthy and happy pregnancy
- improve the outcome of every pregnancy to give every baby a healthy start in life
- decrease low birth weight in infants.
*This program is free and voluntary
Our pregnant patients will meet with OB Nurse Renee King. Renee has worked in the medical field since 2000 in multiple areas, specializing in pediatrics. She has worked as an OB nurse at SOS since 2015. She enjoys providing care to the patients in our community.
