19th Annual Back to School Backpack Drive
Through our 19th Annual Back to School Program, SOS distributed over 3,700 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students from low-income families. From August 27th through the 29th, families came to the SOS Community Health Center in Costa Mesa to pick up their backpacks. For the first time, SOS received so many donations that eligible families could take home up to three backpacks. The Back to School distribution was made possible thanks to the hundreds of volunteer hours and charitable contributions of individuals and organizations. This program would not be possible without the support of the community.
SOS was fortunate to once again be part of this year’s OC Fair’s We Care Wednesday School Supply Drive. Fairgoers donated over 160,000 school supplies, valuing over $67,150, to Share Our Selves. We extend a heartfelt thank you to the OC Fair and to everyone who came out to support the drive.
