Community Partners
Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian
From the beginning of the SOS Free Clinic, the doctors on staff at Hoag Hospital have been the primary volunteers staffing the clinic.
The relationship between SOS and Hoag Hospital makes an incredible system of care available to both SOS and Hoag patients. This is a tremendous statement of caring and belief in the importance of access to care for everyone, regardless of ability to pay. Clinic-hospital partnerships are not unusual; however, the level of cooperation and collaboration between SOS and Hoag is unique.
The model Hoag and SOS provides is a pillar of excellence for good communities. It increases efficiencies, reduces the use of the ER reducing costs and opening access for true emergencies, protects public health, and improves opportunities for working individuals without insurance to receive primary care and control chronic disease. The partnership helps build a better community: a good place to live and to raise a family.
